We have two tracks located on the cliff tops of the camp. With wonderful views looking into neighbouring Filey's bay and the sun shining (fingers crossed), it all adds up to a truly idyllic setting.
The off road track is grass based with natural bumps and divots, together with a couple of man made jumps. It makes for what may appear a simple lap rather more interesting at times as the track wears during the week. The track is marked out with 2"hose and pegged down, and incorporates a pit lane for those vital fuel stops during the longer finals.
The on road track is a tarmac surface and marked out with fixed guttering. The guttering is car friendly with cars glancing off it in the event of a mishaps which happens to us all :-). The track is a mix of fast straights, tight hairpins and flowing corners, and has been described as suitable for national standard. It also incorporates an oval for hot rod cars, and even a pit lane for those vital fuel stops during the longer finals.
The rostrum is constructed of steel scaffold towers bolted together. It incorporates a purpose built non slip staircase, and non slip walkway. It is suitable for upto ten drivers and for 2012 will be extended to comfortably hold twelve drivers with plenty of room. This all adds up to a sturdy solid rostrum for the drivers to use either the on road or off road tracks.
